People Business Partner – PMB

As a People Business Partner (PMB) you will support the People Manager in delivering the business‑specific people agenda and provide efficient, cost‑effective HR administration for employees and managers at the Mill in Pietermaritzburg.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the People strategy and programmes initiated by People Business Partners, including talent acquisition campaigns, bargaining agreements and learning & development initiatives.
• Provide operational support for employee relations and industrial relations matters such as grievances, disciplinary hearings and terminations.
• Coordinate employee engagement activities, including surveys and feedback collection.
• Assist the People Manager with recruitment logistics – scheduling interviews, assessments and onboarding documentation.
• Process People Shared Services activities for the site, managing recruitment, onboarding, off‑boarding, L&D and the full employee lifecycle.
• Run customized People reports, dashboards and metrics to meet business requirements.
• Deliver regular communication and training on process and system changes to all stakeholders.
• Advise and socialize People processes, monitor adoption and implement issue‑resolution activities.

Required profile

• Business or HR‑related degree; professional HR certification or membership preferred.
• 3‑4 years post‑qualification experience handling operational HR activities.
• Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills with high attention to detail.
• Inspirational personality able to engage and influence at all organisational levels.
• Proven ability to multitask across multiple HR disciplines and sites.
• Knowledge of HR policies, processes and SLA management.
