HR/Payroll Administrator (Sage Payroll)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented HR/Payroll Administrator to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. The role focuses on accurate payroll processing, timesheet management, and supporting broader HR functions within a fast‑growing FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll using Sage payroll software, ensuring compliance with local legislation and internal policies.
• Maintain payroll records, including salary changes, deductions, bonuses, and benefits.
• Calculate and remit statutory deductions such as taxes, pensions, and insurance contributions.
• Prepare and distribute payslips and guarantee timely salary payments.
• Collaborate with Finance to reconcile payroll data and generate reports.
• Verify employee timesheets for accuracy and manage the time‑and‑attendance system, tracking hours, shifts, absences, and overtime.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in time records and ensure adherence to working‑hour regulations.
• Provide training to employees and managers on proper use of time‑keeping tools.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• Good understanding of payroll compliance and statutory requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with finance and HR teams.
