Payout Officer

About the role

The Payout Officer ensures that all financial transactions are processed accurately and within agreed turnaround times, supporting risk management and stakeholder satisfaction. This role operates within Nedbank's Sandton office, adhering to established procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process and reconcile payments, preventing financial loss through accurate calculations and regular checks.
• Monitor daily transaction volumes, report irregularities, and maintain audit trails for unreconciled items.
• Meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and respond to stakeholder queries or complaints within agreed timeframes.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of banking legislation, industry changes, and Nedbank’s internal policies.
• Identify and recommend process improvements, supporting the implementation of new systems and policies.
• Contribute to Nedbank’s culture initiatives, corporate social responsibility projects, and transformation goals.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or National Senior Certificate; Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience in financial, risk, or process management environments.
• Strong understanding of banking procedures, administrative systems, and business principles.
• Commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
