OTR Repair Technician

About the role

You will provide expert inspection, maintenance, repair and replacement services for tyres on a variety of heavy‑vehicle applications. The position supports Otraco Southern Africa’s mining‑focused tyre management solutions and contributes to vehicle safety, performance and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Follow Otraco Management System (OMS) policies and procedures.
• Inspect tyres and decide whether to scrap, repair or keep them in service.
• Perform tyre and tube repairs using approved methods.
• Operate forklifts, tyre handlers, tyre changers, balancers and alignment machines safely.
• Conduct daily equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Document service work accurately and promptly.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently according to customer priorities.
• Maintain personal fitness and presentation suitable for the duties.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Valid OTR Repair Technician Certificate.
• At least 5 years of experience as an OTR Repair Technician (preferred).
