Learner Miner – Learnership Programme

About the role

Valterra Platinum, an integrated producer of Platinum Group Metals, is inviting suitably qualified unemployed community members to join its Learner Miner Learnership Programme. The programme runs for 24 to 30 months and combines structured theoretical and practical workplace training, including mentorship by Competent Miners, to build the skills needed for a miner role. Participants also prepare for the DMRE Blasting Certificate examinations. Successful completion may lead to inclusion in the company's talent pipeline for future entry-level miner positions, depending on operational needs.

The programme is open to 15 external candidates from Amandelbult host communities and/or beneficiaries, based in Amandelbult, Thabazimbi, Limpopo.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in structured training and development programmes
• Complete all learning interventions, assessments and logbooks
• Follow all safety, health, environmental and quality requirements
• Show commitment to personal development and learning
• Take part in workplace exposure and practical training
• Comply with company policies, procedures and standards

Required profile

• From Amandelbult host communities and/or a beneficiary
• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate; a Bachelor Pass (60%) is required, and 60% Maths Literacy or 50% pure Maths is advantageous
• South African citizen with a valid ID, residing in host communities
• Medically fit for the role and working environment
• No criminal record
