Operations Supervisor

About the role

The Operations Supervisor ensures that all on‑site tasks are performed safely, sustainably and productively. Working closely with the Superintendent, the role supports the efficient running of the site and the execution of shift activities.

Key responsibilities

• Execute operational and technical duties in line with organisational directives and project goals.
• Support business initiatives and implement cost‑effective material and equipment usage.
• Maintain strict compliance with Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) policies, procedures and legislation.
• Prepare and contribute to daily/shift work plans and schedules.
• Supervise the shift team, ensuring tasks are completed to technical standards and client requirements.
• Manage paperwork, display up‑to‑date site posters and record near‑miss incidents weekly.
• Verify plan drawings, quantities and material specifications; document plant condition with photographs.
• Interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining strong working relationships.
• Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the project.

Required profile

• Proven experience in site or operations supervision within construction or industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of SHEQ regulations and ability to enforce compliance.
• Ability to plan, organise and monitor shift activities and resources.
• Effective communication skills for stakeholder and team interaction.
• Attention to detail for technical standards, material usage and reporting.
