About the role

Our client, a well‑established South African organisation in the financial and retail services sector, is seeking an Operations Risk Manager / Bedryfsrisikobestuurder to lead the Financial Services team in Tyger Valley, Pretoria. The role focuses on implementing strategic plans, managing credit risk and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve business objectives and improve profitability of Financial Services.
• Create, maintain and review financial policies that promote cost‑efficiency and operational effectiveness while integrating good governance.
• Chair credit committee meetings and manage the credit department, including risk assessment, reporting and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate with Legal, Collections and other internal stakeholders to manage high‑risk customers and ensure bad debt stays within acceptable limits.
• Monitor productivity, optimise credit processes and ensure timely processing of applications.
• Develop new financing products, grow debtor portfolios and present proposals to investors and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance (mandatory).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management role and 2–4 years’ experience in data analysis (advantageous).
• Knowledge of the National Credit Act and related regulatory legislation (advantageous).
• Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills with a sense of ownership and accountability.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to analyse and present statistical data to management.

What we offer

• Salary range R45 000 – R50 000 per month.
