Operations Manager - Logistics

About the role

The Operations Manager will oversee all warehouse and yard activities, ensuring compliance with bond registers, customs requirements and health & safety standards. The role involves maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams while delivering accurate reporting and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Manage operational teams, oversee bond register and ensure 100% accuracy for SARS audits.
• Process VOCs, customs refunds, acquittals and monthly/quarterly customs exercise accounts.
• Audit stock, verify source documents and maintain accurate data entry.
• Prepare weekly client reports on stock analysis, revenue and costs.
• Lead health and safety initiatives, manage risk registers and support ISO compliance.
• Identify new revenue opportunities and monitor cost budgets.

Required profile

• Minimum Logistics Diploma or Business Administration qualification.
• 3‑5 years of proven experience in logistics, supply chain or bonded warehouse operations.
• Strong analytical, mathematical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with a customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively, empower teams and act ethically.

Required skills

• Knowledge of customs regulations and bond store procedures.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Proficiency in MS Word.
• Experience with logistics‑specific software.
