Operations Manager

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead the development, implementation and scaling of a high‑performing, multi‑site mechanical workshop network. This hands‑on role combines technical knowledge of automotive after‑sales with strong commercial acumen to drive consistent service standards and financial performance across all locations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a scalable operating model for the Tyres & More workshop network.
• Establish and continuously improve SOPs, workshop controls, service standards and operational processes.
• Lead multi‑site workshop operations, including capacity planning, bay utilisation, technician productivity and vehicle turnaround times.
• Oversee inspection, diagnostics, repair authorisation, job‑card and quality‑control processes.
• Drive the Oil‑Inspect‑Advise‑Convert customer proposition and monitor service conversion, average repair order and customer retention.
• Take full responsibility for site and network financial performance – budgets, forecasts, P&L, gross profit, labour recovery, stock and operating costs.
• Support new‑site openings, operational readiness, pilots and network expansion.
• Recruit, develop and retain workshop managers, technicians, service advisors and regional leadership.
• Maintain health‑and‑safety, environmental, technical quality and regulatory compliance.
• Use operational data and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement and resolve escalations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in automotive after‑sales or workshop operations, preferably with OEM or dealer‑grade environments.
• Demonstrated multi‑site leadership capability and a track record of improving operational and financial performance.
• Strong commercial mindset with ability to manage budgets, forecasts and P&L.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to lead technical and customer escalations.
