Operations Engineer – Contract (Hybrid Rotation)

About the role

We are looking for a senior Operations Engineer to join our DevOps – Operations Engineering team on a contract basis. The role is hybrid, rotating between Midrand, Menlyn, Rosslyn and home‑office, and focuses on cloud‑native platforms, CI/CD, GitOps and production monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and maintain CI, CD and GitOps pipelines for mission‑critical plant operations.
• Design, deploy and configure Kubernetes clusters using Helm charts.
• Implement and manage monitoring solutions with Grafana, Prometheus and Loki.
• Provide incident, problem and change management support following ITIL processes.
• Support worldwide rollout projects and migration of legacy systems to new cloud environments.
• Document solution guides and ensure knowledge transfer within the team.

Required profile

• Strategic senior‑level mindset with ability to work independently and influence without direct authority.
• Strong Agile and DevOps orientation.
• Experience delivering cloud operations on Azure or AWS.
• Proven ability to handle ambiguous requests and drive investigations to clear specifications.
