Openstack Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Our client, an established technology organisation, is looking for an Openstack Infrastructure Engineer to own and operate their private cloud stack. You will focus on virtualization performance, storage resilience, and automation across a production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer, deploy and support robust OpenStack and Linux virtualization clusters.
• Maintain health, performance and capacity of distributed storage layers (e.g., Ceph).
• Troubleshoot multi‑tier issues across compute nodes, virtual networks and guest workloads.
• Automate operational routines using code and modern configuration tooling.
• Execute system migrations, hardware rollouts and rolling updates.
• Maintain technical documentation and define operational benchmarks.
• Participate in system monitoring, performance tuning and incident resolution.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience supporting production open‑source cloud platforms.
• Advanced Linux troubleshooting and performance analysis skills.
• Experience with distributed storage management such as Ceph or equivalent SDS technologies.
• Strong understanding of core networking, virtualization layers and server hardware.
• Proficiency with automation/scripting tools (Python, Bash or modern automation frameworks).
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
