O&M Business Development Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced O&M Business Development Engineer to join our team in Pretoria. This senior‑level position requires a strong electrical engineering background combined with proven business development capabilities. The role focuses on identifying new opportunities within the Operations & Maintenance sector and building lasting client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the O&M market.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Develop and manage a robust business development pipeline.
• Provide technical and commercial solutions that meet client needs.
• Prepare and present proposals, quotations and business development strategies.
• Support tendering and proposal processes and conduct client meetings.
• Collaborate with technical and engineering teams to develop solutions.
• Negotiate commercial terms and assist in closing new business.
• Monitor market trends and identify growth opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of business development activities.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, from a recognised university.
• Senior‑level professional with extensive industry experience.
• Proven experience in business development, sales or client relationship management.
• Strong commercial and technical understanding.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Mature, experienced and professionally established with a strong network in engineering, electrical, industrial or O&M sectors.
• Comfortable dealing with senior decision‑makers and clients.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (advantageous).
