Occupational Health Nurse – Permanent Position

About the role

Two permanent vacancies are available for Occupational Health Nurses to work 40 hours per week on shift basis. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality occupational health services for a clinic serving the Waltloo area in Gauteng.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain an Occupational Health programme that promotes physical, psychological and social well‑being of workers.
• Monitor employee health status through ongoing surveillance programmes in line with SOPs.
• Provide information to clients to eliminate, control and minimise health risks and hazards.
• Coordinate emergency procedures and ensure readiness of the clinic.
• Manage the budget and administer all aspects of the service efficiently.
• Deliver primary healthcare services and ensure equipment is calibrated and controlled.
• Keep confidential employee records up‑to‑date and ensure accurate filing.
• Meet professional and quality standards of Life Health Solutions and client organisations, including ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 compliance.

Required profile

• Qualifications in General Nursing and Occupational Health Nursing (B Tech/Diploma) with 2‑3 years post‑graduation experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) showing the Occupational Health qualification.
• Sound knowledge of occupational and primary health care service delivery.
• Certificates in dispensing, spirometry, audiometry and vision screening.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Computer literacy and ability to work with clinic administration systems.
