Occupational Health Nurse

About the role

We are seeking two Occupational Health Nurses to work in our day and night clinics serving the Stanger and Shakaskraal areas. The role reports to the Business Manager and is a fixed‑term position starting 1 September 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop an Occupational Health programme that promotes physical, psychological and social well‑being of workers.
• Monitor employee health through ongoing surveillance programmes in line with SOPs.
• Provide information to clients to eliminate, control and minimise health risks and hazards.
• Coordinate emergency procedures and ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards.
• Manage the clinic’s budget and oversee smooth administration of services.
• Deliver high‑quality primary health‑care services and meet professional quality standards.

Required profile

• General Nursing qualification and Occupational Health Nursing BTech/Diploma.
• 2–3 years relevant experience.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) including an Occupational Health qualification on the SANC receipt.
• Sound knowledge of occupational and primary health‑care services.
• Computer literacy.
• Strong communication, administration and employee‑relations experience.

Required skills

• Dispensing certificate.
• Spirometry competency.
• Audiometry certificate and registration as an audiometrist with SASOHN.
• Vision‑screening capability.
• HIV counselling and testing certification.
• Computer literacy.
