Occupational Health Care Nurse (OHNP) – Durban

About the role

Join a leading occupational health team to deliver comprehensive medical surveillance and emergency care for industrial employees. You will conduct pre‑employment, periodic and exit examinations while ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Key responsibilities

• Perform medical examinations for pre‑employment, periodic, exit and transfer assessments.
• Manage specialised testing such as audiometry, spirometry, vision screening and dispensing.
• Handle injury‑on‑duty cases and provide primary emergency care on site.
• Support clients with absenteeism management and sick‑leave follow‑up.
• Oversee clinic administration, data capture and OHSA compliance reporting.

Required profile

• Current, active registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Degree or Diploma in Nursing plus a post‑basic qualification (Diploma or BTech) in Occupational Health Nursing Science.
• Qualified OHNP with completed courses in audiometry, spirometry, vision and dispensing.
• 2–3 years of experience in occupational health, primary health care or a clinical‑industrial setting.
