NIMART Nurse – Fixed Term (Amajuba, Zululand, uMzinyathi)

About the role

TB HIV Care is seeking experienced NIMART‑qualified nurses to provide technical assistance to frontline health workers across three districts (Amajuba, Zululand and uMzinyathi). The position is fixed‑term and funded by project grants, focusing on delivering high‑quality, person‑centred HIV and TB services for high‑risk populations, especially women.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site mentorship and support to nurses and clinicians in public health facilities implementing NIMART protocols.
• Assist in establishing and monitoring person‑centred care pathways for high‑risk groups, including adolescent girls, sex workers and people who use drugs.
• Deliver tailored treatment and prevention counseling for high‑risk women, ensuring adherence to antiretroviral therapy and TB prophylaxis.
• Collect and report data on service quality, treatment outcomes and program performance to inform continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with district health teams and community organisations to strengthen referral networks.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid South African nursing license.
• Completed NIMART training and demonstrated experience in HIV/TB care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned districts and work in resource‑limited settings.
