Night Shift Operations Administrator & Controller – Durban

About the role

Our client in the logistics sector is looking for an experienced Night Shift Operations Administrator and Controller to manage cargo receiving, stock control and inventory accuracy at the Durban receiving department. The role is focused on ensuring efficient warehouse operations throughout the night shift while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Process inbound cargo by creating Goods Received Notes (GRN) and entering data into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Freight Management System (FMS).
• Generate and apply stock labels to all received items according to company procedures.
• Identify and report damaged or discrepant stock to relevant stakeholders.
• Organise, consolidate and manage cargo within the warehouse to maintain accurate stock control.
• Return surplus consumables (shrink wrap, top covers, tape) to the designated storage area at shift end.
• Support housekeeping activities to keep the warehouse clean, safe and orderly.
• Assist with incident investigations by documenting observations, taking photographs and submitting reports.
• Participate in health and safety inspections and report operational non‑conformances.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Minimum five years’ experience as a Tally Clerk or in warehousing, logistics, receiving or import operations.
• Proven ability to work permanently on a night shift schedule, including weekends and public holidays.
• Reliable personal transportation for night‑shift attendance.
• Demonstrated commitment to integrity, honesty, accountability and teamwork.
