Next-Generation Commercial Workshop Foreman / Supervisor / Lead

About the role

The Recruitment Guy is seeking experienced commercial workshop foremen, supervisors, leads and technical leaders for a permanent position in Midvaal. Candidates will oversee workshop operations, ensure high‑quality repairs on heavy‑duty trucks and support the service team to meet productivity targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise technicians, mechanics, apprentices and other workshop personnel, allocating jobs based on capability and priority.
• Monitor workshop productivity, workflow, turnaround times and quality‑control inspections before vehicle release.
• Provide technical assistance, troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical and diagnostic faults, and ensure work meets OEM standards.
• Maintain accurate job cards, labour times, warranty documentation and parts usage records.
• Mentor and develop staff, identify training needs and promote continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Qualified, trade‑tested diesel mechanic with proven experience in commercial‑vehicle or truck workshops.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a dealership, authorised service centre or fleet workshop.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic fault‑finding ability, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Valid Code 14 licence (highly advantageous or required depending on position).
