National Sales Manager – Food Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced National Sales Manager with a strong background in the food manufacturing industry. The role combines hands‑on sales, key account management, new business development, and leadership of a small sales support team. You will travel extensively across South Africa to maintain existing relationships and identify growth opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow an established national customer portfolio.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities within the food manufacturing sector.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
• Travel nationally to meet clients, develop relationships and expand market reach.
• Lead and support a small team of approximately 3–4 employees.
• Oversee sales administration and ensure efficient sales operations.
• Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets.
• Monitor sales performance, prepare reports and provide regular updates to management.

Required profile

• A BSc degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a closely related field.
• Proven sales management experience within the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, products and customer requirements.
• Demonstrated success in managing existing accounts and generating new business.
• Experience leading a small sales or sales administration team.
• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication, planning and organisational abilities.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout South Africa and a valid driver’s licence.
