About the role
An established, family-owned manufacturer is looking for a National Sales Manager to succeed a long-serving incumbent who is retiring in January 2027. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will grow customers across manufacturing, FMCG, food service and hospitality nationwide. The position is based in Johannesburg.
Key responsibilities
- Own a national customer base on fortnightly call cycles
- Grow market share across every product category
- Develop new business in manufacturing, FMCG, food service and hospitality
- Handle promotions, weekly reporting and the handover of existing accounts
Required profile
- BSc in Food Science, Food Technology or a related field, or solid FMCG sales experience
- Proven B2B sales into food, FMCG or hospitality customers
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel nationally
- Ability to plan your own week and stay on schedule while on the road
- Strong relationship-building skills with buyers
Required skills
- Call planning and customer classification
- CRM and MS Office sales reporting
- Presentation and negotiation with buyers and technical teams
