National Operations Manager (FMCG)

About the role

The National Operations Manager will lead and coordinate operational activities across all corporate store regions, ensuring performance excellence and alignment with strategic goals. This senior role reports directly to the Head of Operations and drives financial, compliance, and talent initiatives nationwide.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate daily operations across multiple store regions, overseeing Area Managers, Trainers and Store Managers.
• Analyse financial reports, monitor budgets, and ensure stores meet sales targets while controlling costs.
• Maintain up‑to‑date store administration systems and complete regional audits.
• Provide consolidated financial analyses and operational reports to senior leadership.
• Review rosters, repairs and maintenance expenses to keep budgets on track.
• Ensure compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and other HR regulations.
• Identify training needs, develop annual workforce training plans and support employee growth.
• Conduct regular performance reviews with area and store managers.
• Collaborate with product development, marketing and OHS teams to execute seasonal and product changes.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent; a degree or diploma in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Management, Business Management or related field is advantageous.
• 5–8 years of multi‑unit operational management experience in the F&B or quick‑service restaurant sector.
• Proven leadership experience managing, mentoring and developing direct reports.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in cost control and budget interpretation.
