Multi Skilled Cinema Employee - Southgate

About the role

Ster-Kinekor Theatres is advertising a permanent Multi Skilled Employee position at its Southgate cinema in Johannesburg South. The role is entry-level and covers several areas of cinema operations, such as box office, catering and food and beverage, depending on operational needs and supervisor instructions.

Key responsibilities

• Work as a cashier at the box office and assist with ticket sales and collections
• Assist with catering sales and provide waiter services
• Prepare popcorn, slush beverages and other refreshments to quality standards, and report any deviations
• Maintain presentation standards: age restrictions, synopses, posters, product displays and disclaimers
• Keep kitchens, food preparation areas, equipment and counters clean, and maintain storerooms and sealed products
• Follow health and safety requirements, uniform requirements and scheduled health and safety reporting
• Stay up to date on products and promotions and recommend them to guests

Required profile

• Matric qualification
• Zero to one year of experience in a similar role
• Excellent communication, administrative, organisational and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility, teamwork and willingness to learn new procedures

Required skills

• Basic Microsoft Office knowledge and computer literacy
• Knowledge of VISTA/MYCC systems is advantageous
