Millwright – Maintenance Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Millwright to join our maintenance team at a pipe manufacturing facility. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing mechanical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production and plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and identify root causes of equipment failures.
• Install, align, dismantle, and repair machinery, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, rollers, bearings, and related equipment.
• Carry out mechanical inspections and recommend repairs or improvements.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and equipment specifications.
• Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, and basic machining as required.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and plant improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report completed work.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
• Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and maintenance standards.

Required profile

• Qualified/registered Millwright or equivalent industrial mechanical trade qualification.
• Experience in a manufacturing, steel, pipe, or heavy industrial environment is advantageous.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, or standby when required.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
