Mid‑weight Accountant – FMCG/Pharma

About the role

ACDOCO SA is seeking a seasoned mid‑weight accountant with more than five years of experience to join its finance team. The role offers the chance to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment within the health and beauty consumer goods sector, supporting financial operations, reporting, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and ensure accurate balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee creditors, manage cash‑flow compilation, and handle purchase‑order and payment processes in Syspro.
• Control forward exchange contracts and account for forex forwards.
• Compile budgets, perform variance and profitability analysis, and provide data for project decision‑support.
• Maintain reconciliations for general ledger and supplier accounts.
• Ensure compliance with local tax, benefits, and statutory submissions (SARS, COIDA, CIPC).
• Support finance, BBBEE, and ISO audits and load local payments onto banking systems.
• Monitor and guide the creditors team, and undertake ad‑hoc duties as assigned by the Finance Head and CFO.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting (articles completed advantageous).
• Minimum five years of accounting experience, preferably in FMCG or pharmaceutical industries.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high‑pressure environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Syspro ERP or similar accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with forex forward contracts and hedge accounting.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 protocols.
