Mid-Level Compliance Officer

About the role

Methys is looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Mid-Level Compliance Officer with 2-3 years of experience to support daily compliance operations, fraud monitoring and merchant due diligence. The role ensures adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements and operational standards, and supports onboarding and ongoing merchant monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Fraud monitoring and transaction review: review previous day's transactions for anomalies and suspicious activity, verify settlements and fees, run daily batch checks and reconcile transactions with settlement batches, conduct wallet load reconciliations and manage BIN blocking and unblocking.
• Merchant compliance and monitoring: review merchant websites and online reputation, carry out due diligence, monitor chargeback ratios and escalate where necessary.
• Operational support: answer merchant and internal queries by phone and email, process banking detail changes, business name or branding updates and 3DS disablement requests, and support chargeback queries and investigations.
• Onboarding and KYC: liaise with clients and sales teams to collect onboarding documents, perform KYC verification, keep records securely, submit applications for approval and set up merchant accounts once approved.

Required profile

• 2-3 years' experience in compliance, risk, fraud monitoring or a related field.
• Strong understanding of KYC, AML and regulatory compliance principles.
• Experience in payments, fintech or financial services is advantageous.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet daily deadlines.
