About the role
The Building Company is hiring a permanent merchandiser in Ermelo, Mpumalanga. The role covers customer service, sales support, stock merchandising and reporting within a building materials environment.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the customer base and provide customer service, helping customers and following up on quotes
- Achieve sales and gross profit targets through personal selling and new business development
- Merchandise stock: place it correctly, ensure merchandising standards are met and display it properly
- Receive and check goods, report on damaged stock and on depletion or removal of stock
- Handle stock returns and report on them
- Run product promotions and handle administration and reporting
- Maintain equipment and uphold the company's values and culture
Required profile
- Matric (Grade 12)
- 1-2 years' experience in a similar position, including 1 year of shelf packing/merchandising
- Knowledge of the general building materials environment is essential
- Proven success in personal selling, customer service and converting leads into sales
- Ability to manage and coordinate regular stock takes and to interact with customers
