Medical Scientific Liaison – Haematology

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) specialized in haematology to join its Innovative Medicine team in Johannesburg. The MSL will act as the scientific bridge between the company and leading haematology specialists, supporting the local and emerging markets medical affairs strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest medical and scientific developments in haematology.
• Build and maintain a network of leading specialists and key opinion leaders.
• Communicate J&J product information, treatment trends, and clinical study data to external stakeholders.
• Provide strategic input to the medical affairs plan and support business decision‑making.
• Deliver proactive and reactive scientific data to specialists and manage Named Patient Program inquiries.
• Organise and participate in medical education activities, advisory boards, and training sessions for internal teams.

Required profile

• Science degree (MBChB/MBBCh, PhD, Masters) or qualified pharmacist.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or research sector with project‑management competence.
• Prior experience as an MSL is strongly preferred.
• Background in haematology or oncology is strongly preferred.
