Medical Representative

About the role

Dr Reddy's Laboratories, a multinational pharmaceutical company, is hiring a Medical Representative in Cape Town. The role involves selling, detailing and promoting products to doctors and pharmacies within a designated area, with a focus on doctors and corporate pharmacies.

Key responsibilities

• Sell, detail and promote products to targeted doctors and pharmacies, focusing on doctors and corporate pharmacies to promote the portfolio.
• Implement action plans in line with the company's marketing and sales strategy so that sales targets are met monthly, quarterly and annually.
• Visit and liaise personally with key clients, as agreed with the Regional Manager or National Sales Manager.
• Maintain a database of all targeted clients.
• Liaise with the Regional Manager or National Sales Manager on exploiting business opportunities in the designated areas.
• Report product complaints (adverse events and technical complaints) and medical information queries for all DRL products according to internal processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Life Sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the pharma industry.
• Established relationships with key stakeholders are beneficial.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, market trends, competitors and customers.
• Ability to set clear goals, guide and track team performance.
• Ability to analyse sales data, track performance metrics and generate reports on sales strategy effectiveness.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and good at building and leveraging relationships.
