About the role
Our client in Bellville is seeking a highly organised and adaptable Medical Receptionist to support a busy healthcare practice. You will manage front‑office duties, patient administration and coordinate daily operations in a fast‑paced medical environment.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome patients, process consent forms and create patient files.
- Handle telephonic enquiries, medical‑aid queries and authorisation processes.
- Use GoodX to import doctor notes, manage patient records and generate monthly rehab reports.
- Check and explain medical‑aid benefits, verify ICD‑10 or PMB conditions, and sign patient forms.
- Process payments, issue receipts and upload bills to COIDLINK.
- Reschedule appointments, manage theatre‑list scheduling and maintain office supplies.
Required profile
- Matric or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of front‑office or administrative experience in a medical setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication, professional telephone etiquette and ability to work under pressure.
- High level of accuracy, confidentiality handling of patient information and excellent organisational skills.
Required skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Experience with GoodX or similar medical practice management software.
