Marketing & Social Media Assistant (Junior)

About the role

Join a growing retail and distribution environment in a hands‑on junior role supporting marketing operations across multiple brands. The position works closely with the Marketing Manager, a graphic designer, videographer, sales teams and other departments to deliver day‑to‑day marketing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Marketing Manager with planning monthly social media content calendars, researching trends and keeping schedules updated.
• Write and adapt captions, social media copy, prepare briefs for creative teams and verify product information before publication.
• Manage, schedule and publish daily content on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, while monitoring comments and responding to routine inquiries.
• Gather weekly and monthly social media statistics, maintain reporting spreadsheets and track top‑performing posts.
• Update the internal training platform with videos, course materials, product info and assessments.
• Plan and coordinate expos, trade shows, product launches, activations and internal events, handling checklists, displays and supplier liaison.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in a marketing, social media, content or administrative support role.
• Familiarity with Facebook and Instagram and basic experience using Meta Business Suite or another scheduling platform.
• Strong written and verbal communication, spelling, proofreading and attention to detail.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Reliable transport to work in Somerset West and South African citizenship with a valid ID.
• Relevant qualification in marketing, communications, digital media or a related field is advantageous.
