Senior Category Manager – Somerset West

About the role

Our client, a globally recognised luxury cookware and lifestyle brand, is looking for a strategic Senior Category Manager to drive product and category strategy across its South African business. Based in Somerset West, you will influence product ranges, optimise inventory and collaborate with international stakeholders to achieve sustainable commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies that align with brand objectives and market trends.
• Manage product assortment, pricing, and promotional plans to maximise sales and margin.
• Lead demand planning, forecasting and inventory optimisation to ensure optimal stock levels.
• Negotiate with suppliers and manage supplier relationships to secure favourable terms.
• Collaborate with global teams, cross‑functional partners and retail operations to ensure seamless execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or a related field.
• 5–7 years of retail buying or category management experience, preferably with premium or international consumer brands.
• Strong commercial acumen and proven negotiation skills.
• Excellent analytical abilities and experience working with ERP systems.
