Managing Director – South Africa & Africa

About the role

We are seeking a commercially driven Managing Director to lead our South African and broader African operations for a leading international freight forwarding, clearing and logistics organisation. The role will oversee multi‑market activities, drive growth, and ensure strong financial performance across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic direction and P&L ownership for South Africa and Africa.
• Lead large‑scale logistics, supply‑chain and cross‑border operations.
• Develop and execute growth initiatives, transformation programmes and profitability plans.
• Manage relationships with multinational partners, customers and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure operational excellence across freight forwarding, clearing, warehousing and transport functions.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of executive leadership experience in logistics or supply‑chain businesses.
• Proven track record of leading large organisations and delivering financial results.
• Strong commercial, operational and financial acumen.
• Experience working in multinational environments and across multiple African markets.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of freight forwarding, clearing & forwarding, supply‑chain management, transport and warehousing.
• Ability to manage complex, cross‑border operations.
• Strong P&L management and strategic planning capabilities.
