Maintenance Plumber and General Hotel Maintenance

About the role

Radisson Hotel Group is hiring a Maintenance Plumber and General Hotel Maintenance worker in Port Elizabeth. The role covers plumbing installation, repairs and maintenance across all hotel areas, supporting guest safety, brand standards and aesthetic quality while keeping room downtime to a minimum.

Key responsibilities

• Check pipes, drains, heat pumps, pumps and fixtures regularly to catch leaks or failures early
• Resolve plumbing issues in guest rooms and public areas such as clogged toilets, low water pressure and broken pipes
• Monitor and service water heaters and circulation pumps
• Pipe fitting and joining PVC, copper or PEX, and use hand and power tools safely
• Assist other trades with plastering, painting touch-ups and silicone sealing, erect scaffolding and ladders safely, and respond to urgent tile hazards in guest rooms
• Keep work areas clean, protect guest areas and minimise noise during working hours
• Maintain stock of tiles, adhesives, grout and sealants, advise procurement on quantities and lead times, care for tools and dispose of rubble and hazardous materials correctly

Required profile

• Matric/Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 (a trade certificate is advantageous)
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in plumbing, preferably in hotels, resorts or commercial sites
• Proven experience in new plumbing installations
• Physically fit: able to lift, kneel and work in confined spaces

Required skills

• Piping and conduit installation, drainage and backflow servicing, leak detection and sealing
• Planned preventative maintenance
• Attention to detail and quality of finish on guest-facing work
• Ability to work under pressure and in occupied hotels with minimal disruption
