Maintenance Operator – Mechanical (Grade 2)

About the role

Sasol is seeking a Maintenance Operator (Grade 2) to support the upkeep of mechanical and electro‑mechanical equipment at its Secunda operations. The role involves assisting artisans, ensuring safe work practices, and collecting field data to maximise productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and accompany artisans to ensure safe execution of maintenance tasks.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and keep tools securely stored.
• Prepare and arrange tools required for each task as instructed.
• Support installation and removal of machine components.
• Identify and apply the correct oil or lubricant for services.
• Drive and deliver samples when required.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / N3 with Mathematics, English and Physical Science.
• CHIETA NQF Level 2 (Mechanical) qualification.
• 1–2+ years of relevant mechanical or electro‑mechanical maintenance experience.
• Valid Code 8/10 driver’s licence.
