Maintenance Officer – Facilities Services

About the role

Old Mutual is looking for a Maintenance Officer to provide cost-efficient and effective building maintenance while delivering a customer-centred service so that buildings operate effectively. The role covers keeping building systems and facilities running, resolving maintenance requests and supporting the Facilities and Corporate Procurement team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver building maintenance efficiently and keep the workplace safe and healthy.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships, keep service level agreements and resolve queries within SLAs.
• Keep air-conditioning, water pumps, generators, sprinkler valves, lifts, fire hoses, electrical rooms, external lights and plumbing operational.
• Attend to furniture, lights, carpets, blinds and other general maintenance as per SLA, and inform the supervisor about workshop stock levels.
• Support evacuation procedures, ensure signage complies with regulations and prepare meeting rooms.
• Resolve logged calls promptly and close them, gather customer feedback and escalate complaints.
• Control costs and adhere to corporate governance policies and agreed mandates.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, share knowledge with colleagues and develop professionally.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (matriculation certificate).
• 2 years' experience in building maintenance.
• Knowledge of reception services; artisan qualifications are an advantage.
