About the role
A well-established manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Machine Operator for its Packaging Department, based in Parow, Western Cape. The operator runs, cleans and sets up packaging machinery while following GMP and SOP requirements throughout production.
Key responsibilities
- Clean workstations and machinery
- Perform machine setup and changeovers, and ensure machinery is assembled correctly
- Use the correct change parts and identify and report maintenance concerns
- Handle bulk product according to GMP and maintain correct fill volume
- Verify balances for pack sizes and complete all in-process documentation
- Reconcile production jobs and support on-time, in-full delivery
- Maintain equipment efficiency and hygiene standards, and follow SOPs and production procedures
Required profile
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4
- At least 1 year's experience as a Machine Operator
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Good hand-eye coordination and ability to work accurately with small components
- Strong communication skills, able to work under pressure, assertive and proactive
- Mathematics is advantageous
