LPM Accountant

About the role

Goldrush Group is seeking an experienced LPM Accountant to take ownership of the accounting operations of the LPM division. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for producing periodic financial reports, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records, and implementing controls and budgets that mitigate risk, enhance accuracy, and ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review, examine and analyse accounting records, management accounts, financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards, including review of the FAR and computation of taxes owed on tax returns.
• Review monthly revenue and cash reconciliations, including follow‑up with the Treasury Department to resolve variances.
• Prepare annual financial statements and all supporting schedules for the audit file.
• Analyse business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations to project future revenues and expenses and provide advice.
• Prepare accurate balance‑sheet reconciliations and other financial reconciliations.
• Prepare board reports and present findings.
• Manage daily cash flow for the LPM group and review/recalculate gaming taxes.
• Prepare income and deferred tax computations and ensure SARS compliance.
• Assist in checking and releasing daily payments and oversee the accounts payable team.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting Honours degree with completed articles at a reputable audit firm (minimum requirement).
• Minimum three years’ experience in a comparable accounting role.
• Strong analytical skills, business acumen and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel proficiency.
• Tax and IFRS knowledge.
• Proficiency with accounting software administration.
