Logistics Scheduler – Transport & Supply Chain

About the role

Our client, a leading transport, logistics and supply chain services provider in Kraaifontein, is looking for a Logistics Scheduler. You will own the daily scheduling and control‑tower execution of transportation loads, ensuring capacity is confirmed, vehicles and drivers are allocated, and trips stay on plan.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain the daily schedule, confirming collections, deliveries, equipment needs and time windows.
• Secure capacity by allocating carriers/vehicles, confirming driver details and locking availability.
• Issue and track load confirmations, validating instructions, loading notes and documentation before release.
• Activate and monitor tracking, ensuring check‑calls, telematics compliance and real‑time ETA updates.
• Manage exceptions such as delays, breakdowns, loading issues or route changes, escalating risks when needed.
• Brief and support drivers on SOPs, securement, seals, photos and site‑specific rules.
• Drive POD collection, chase photos and supporting documents and hand clean packs to Ops Admin/Finance.
• Provide structured daily updates and support logistics coordinators during peak volumes or urgent recoveries.

Required profile

• Some exposure to dispatch, scheduling, road freight operations or control‑tower execution (training provided).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple moving parts.
• Confident communicator via phone, WhatsApp or email.
• Comfortable working with operational fundamentals such as ETAs, time windows, equipment types and compliance checks.
