Location Planner

About the role

JET is looking for a Location Planner in Gauteng. The role owns and drives store-level performance against sales, stock and profitability targets, and covers location planning, stock flow, assortment and allocation, together with reporting and insights.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse weekly and in-season trade to identify risks and opportunities and act decisively to optimise performance.
• Manage stock flow, assortment and availability to maximise sell-through and minimise lost sales; own stock productivity, including stock turn, aged stock and markdowns.
• Develop and execute location planning strategies, create store clusters, grading frameworks and profiles, and localise assortment strategies.
• Assess the viability and strategy of new, relocated and refurbished stores.
• Prepare pre-season store plans, translate category plans into store-level execution plans, and manage seasonal store grids.
• Partner with Merchandise Planners, give direction to Allocation teams, and work with Operations so that stock strategy matches in-store reality.
• Monitor and optimise omni-channel stock and sales, and manage aged and excess stock in stores.
• Build dashboards and analytical tools, provide regular insight-led feedback on store performance, and run post-investment reviews.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Analytics or similar.
• At least 3 years' experience in location planning, merchandise planning, allocation or retail analytics within clothing retail.
• Proven experience in trading, stock management and performance analysis.
• Exposure to merchandise planning, allocation or supply chain processes is advantageous.
• Strong commercial acumen, ability to interpret complex data, high numeracy, and strong stakeholder communication.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and strong systems capability.
• Experience with planning, allocation or BI tools.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
