Local Receiving Manager

About the role

Pick n Pay is hiring a Local Receiving Manager for a new store opening soon in Stellenbosch, between Kayamandi and Cloetesville. The manager receives all store shipments accurately, manages returns to vendors, reduces shrinkage at the receiving door, disposes of stock in line with company policy and handles the administration of receiving procedures, including visitor and merchandiser entry control.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and return goods systematically and accurately, following company policies and procedures, and conduct quality inspections
• Maintain the cold chain consistently and uphold hygiene, housekeeping and safety standards
• Follow security protocols and assist with security procedures at the back entrance
• Minimise wastage, shrinkage and damage, and complete all administration and documentation
• Carry out scale checks, fire door inspections, alarm tests and generator checks
• Receive all deliveries according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and process returns of goods, equipment and recyclables
• Meet receiving deadlines set out in the SOP and promptly report checklist failures
• Reject non-compliant stock or deliveries, handle DC claim queries and maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the receiving department
• Coach and supervise staff

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12
• Experience as a Receiving Supervisor
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, customers and suppliers
