Linux and Database Administrator (LAMP & Multi‑DB)

About the role

We are looking for a Linux and Database Administrator to join our IT team. You will be responsible for managing Linux servers and multiple database platforms, ensuring performance, security, and reliability across our applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases with high availability.
• Administer Debian and Ubuntu (and optionally Red Hat) Linux servers, applying updates, patches and performance tuning.
• Configure, support and troubleshoot LAMP stack components (Apache, PHP, MySQL/MariaDB).
• Monitor and optimise database and server performance, including query tuning and indexing.
• Implement, test and manage backup, recovery and disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Enforce security best practices such as access control, encryption and vulnerability management.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine tasks.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to databases, Linux servers and LAMP components.
• Document configurations, processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT Manager, developers and other stakeholders for deployments and integrations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Linux and Database Administrator.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field is an advantage.
• Preferred certifications in MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.
