Legal Officer – Commercial Contracts (Southern Africa)

About the role

Super Group Africa is seeking a Legal Officer to support Betway’s Southern African operations. The role focuses on commercial contracts, legal advisory, dispute management, corporate matters, and risk mitigation, providing practical legal solutions while protecting the company’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier, marketing, affiliate, SaaS, IP, NDA and consultancy contracts.
• Provide strategic legal support during negotiations with external parties and identify contractual risks.
• Develop and maintain contract templates and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
• Deliver accurate, commercially‑focused legal advice on contract law, company law, IP, consumer protection, advertising, data protection and general business operations.
• Conduct legal research and support business teams on day‑to‑day legal matters.

Required profile

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum two years post‑qualification experience in a fast‑paced corporate environment.
• Proven experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing commercial agreements.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of contract, commercial, company and intellectual property law.
• Understanding of consumer protection, advertising, marketing and data privacy regulations.
