Lecturer – Tourism Management (Independent Contractor)

About the role

The institution seeks an experienced lecturer to teach Tourism Management within its Diploma programme. The role involves designing and delivering lectures, workshops and practical sessions, both in‑person and online, to help students master core concepts and develop professional skills.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials and workshops covering tourism theory and practice.
• Design, update and maintain course curricula, instructional materials and digital resources.
• Create and grade assessments such as exams, assignments and presentations, providing constructive feedback.
• Offer academic advice, mentorship and timely support to students.
• Contribute to curriculum review, ensuring alignment with industry developments and accreditation standards.
• Participate in continuous professional development and collaborate on teaching‑related research.
• Handle administrative duties including attendance tracking, grading records and committee participation.
• Promote an inclusive learning environment that supports diversity, equity and inclusion.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree or diploma (NQF level 8) in Tourism Management.
• Relevant industry experience is advantageous.
• Prior lecturing experience, both face‑to‑face and online, is preferred.
• Commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion within the classroom.
