Lecturer - Nursing

About the role

Lenmed Nursing College is looking for a Lecturer in its Nursing department. The successful candidate will teach undergraduates, help develop and review the undergraduate programme and curricula, and take part in community engagement activities in line with the College's objectives. The post reports directly to the College Principal.

Key responsibilities

• Teach, supervise and assess students and prepare study material for undergraduate programmes
• Communicate knowledge and facilitate teaching and learning in lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical or laboratory settings, including online assessment
• Be available for contact sessions with students
• Accompany students in clinical practice
• Keep up nursing knowledge through research
• Help administer and manage programmes and the College
• Invigilate College examinations and assessments
• Take part in College meetings, committees and community development projects
• Carry out reasonable requests from the College Principal

Required profile

• Registered with the SANC as a professional nurse and midwife
• Registered with the SANC as a nurse educator, assessor and moderator
• Degree in nursing at NQF level 7 (essential)
• 2 years of teaching experience in higher education or tertiary level
• A master's degree or clinical specialisation is an added advantage
