Lecturer – Mathematics & Physical Science (PL1)

About the role

The College is seeking a PL1 Lecturer to deliver foundational Mathematics and Physical Science programmes across its campuses. The successful candidate will plan and conduct lectures, assess student performance and contribute to the College’s quality management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and deliver lectures in line with DHET ICASS guidelines and College academic plans.
• Assess students, maintain assessment records and provide objective feedback.
• Monitor and analyse student performance, managing attendance and related documentation.
• Foster a conducive classroom environment and ensure effective discipline and classroom management.
• Collaborate with student support services to promote student development.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or NC (V) Level 4 plus a relevant 3‑year Degree/Diploma in Mathematics and Physical Science with a teaching qualification.
• Sound subject knowledge and ability to teach foundational Mathematics and Physical Science.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Teaching experience in a TVET College is desirable.
• Good planning, administration, organising and presentation abilities.
