Lecturer – Civil Engineering (Plumbing) – PL1

About the role

Goldfields TVET College is looking for a PL1 Lecturer in Civil Engineering with a focus on plumbing. The role involves delivering lectures, preparing lesson plans, assessing student work and contributing to the college’s quality management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and deliver lectures in line with college academic plans and DHET ICASS guidelines.
• Assess students, maintain assessment records and provide objective feedback.
• Monitor and analyse student performance, managing attendance and related documentation.
• Foster a conducive classroom environment and ensure effective classroom discipline.
• Collaborate with student support services to promote student development.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or NC (V) Level 4 plus a relevant 3‑year degree/diploma, trade qualification and teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge in plumbing and related civil engineering applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Teaching experience in a TVET college is an advantage.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet) and registration with SACE.
