About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer to join Stadio’s IT department in Durban. The role involves delivering engaging lectures and supporting students across accredited programmes in programming and information systems.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and assess student work in line with module requirements.
• Provide timely feedback on assignments, exams and other assessments.
• Utilise the learning management system independently and collaborate on module design.
• Contribute to curriculum development and incorporate current educational trends.
• Undertake internal moderation and venue‑based assessment invigilation.
• Offer academic guidance and address student queries promptly.
• Complete quality‑assurance tasks to ensure compliance with academic standards.
• Engage in research activities and community projects.
• Maintain effective communication with students, colleagues and management.
• Perform administrative duties as directed.

Required profile

• Relevant IT qualification at honours degree level (NQF8); a master’s degree (NQF9) is advantageous.
• Specialisation in programming, software development, computer science or information systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python using Jupyter Notebook.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript (Visual Studio Code).
• Solid understanding of Java and object‑oriented programming concepts.
• Basic web development and software design/implementation skills.
• Sound knowledge of information systems within information technology.
