Lecturer: Civil Engineering (Plumbing)

About the role

The Goldfields TVET College is seeking a Lecturer in Civil Engineering (Plumbing) on an 11‑month fixed‑term contract. The role involves delivering plumbing and related subjects, preparing lesson plans, and assessing student performance in line with college and DHET guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and deliver lectures in accordance with college academic plans, DHET ICASS guidelines and quality management systems.
• Teach plumbing and related subjects, assess students and maintain accurate assessment records.
• Monitor and analyse student performance, providing objective feedback and supporting student development.
• Maintain classroom discipline, manage attendance and handle related administrative documentation.
• Collaborate with student support services to enhance student outcomes.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or NC (V) Level 4 plus a relevant 3‑year degree/diploma, trade qualification and teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge in plumbing and related civil engineering applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Teaching experience in a TVET college is preferred.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet) and registration with SACE.
