Lead: IT Auditor

About the role

Capitec Bank is looking for a skilled technical lead auditor to join its Internal Audit team, which sits at the intersection of technology, risk and governance. The team works directly with senior leadership and specialist tech teams, and the role suits someone who understands SDLC, cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity and can operate independently at mid to senior level.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the IT audit management in planning IT internal audits and execute them with little to no supervision.
• Identify risks in the technology and data landscape and turn findings into clear, practical recommendations.
• Document a draft report and submit it to the audit manager for review, following Internal Audit standards.
• Engage cross-functional stakeholders across tech and data teams so audit outcomes are achieved.
• Monitor the implementation of agreed audit actions and track progress to completion.
• Develop project plans according to the agreed scope and agree timelines with the audit manager.
• Stay current with emerging technology risks and apply that knowledge to audit planning and execution.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of IT internal audit experience, including designing, performing and/or assisting with data analytics.
• Significant exposure to cybersecurity, complex SDLC processes and cloud environments.
• Experience conducting full audit cycles, from planning through to reporting, with little to no supervision.
• Good communication skills and the ability to relay findings to a wide stakeholder base.
• Sound understanding of best practice frameworks and control environments.
• Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Self-directed work style, good project management including progress and budget management.
• Clear criminal and credit record.

Required skills

• CISA, with CISSP and/or OCSP/CEH as advantageous.
• Knowledge of SDLC, cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity.
