Delivery Lead: Technology (SAP MM)

About the role

The SAP team at Capitec Bank is looking for an experienced SAP MM Delivery Lead who combines hands-on functional expertise with people leadership. The team is small, lean and growing, and the role is neither purely technical nor purely managerial. It covers SAP Materials Management delivery across procurement, inventory management and broader supply chain processes, while operationally leading a team of three functional experts. As the team grows, the role shifts towards solution guidance, relationship management, best-practice recommendations and people development, supporting a move toward standard solutions such as SAP S/4HANA, the Fiori landscape and AI-enabled capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP MM delivery across procurement, inventory management and supply chain processes, acting as the main accountable person for MM outcomes.
• Apply deep knowledge of source-to-pay and supply chain processes, from vendor sourcing and procurement through to inventory, logistics and goods movement.
• Drive solution design across integrated business processes, aligning SAP, third-party systems and operational supply chain needs.
• Design and recommend standard, future-fit SAP solutions and translate business requirements into scalable functional solutions.
• Provide functional leadership for SAP MM integrations with technical teams, integration specialists and solution architects, keeping data, process and system integration points well governed.
• Manage and develop a team of SAP functional experts, coaching them and rallying them around shared priorities.
• Guide the team toward SAP S/4HANA and Fiori-ready solutions, and research and recommend new initiatives, including AI-enabled functionality.
• As the team grows, provide solution guidance, architectural input, stakeholder relationship management and embed best practices.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant SAP MM experience.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring a team of SAP functional specialists.
• Experience in a large-scale SAP environment; banking, retail or FMCG experience is advantageous.
• Stakeholder relationship management and responsibility for delivery in a fast-moving environment.
• Able to work collaboratively across functional experts, technical teams and solution architects, and patient enough to mentor rather than simply direct.

Required skills

• Hands-on SAP MM expertise across procurement and inventory management.
• End-to-end understanding of source-to-pay processes and supply chain processes.
• Awareness of SAP S/4HANA, the Fiori landscape and future platform direction; exposure to AI-enabled SAP capabilities is advantageous.
